1530 hrs. We were called to an incident at Porth Chapel, were a 43 yr old woman had fallen off the footpath onto rocks 25 feet below.
She suffered head, neck, shoulder and spinal injuries and had difficulty breathing. We were on scene very quickly and administered oxygen to help with her breathing and a neck collar was also fitted.
Members of the West country ambulance soon arrived and started treating her and rescue 193 was called to fly her to hospital. She was put on a spinal board and then put into the helicopter stretcher, winched aboard and flown to Treliske leaving three young children and a family friend plus a dog.
Unfortunately for them the car keys and house keys got lost and being left with three children under ten years we had to call in the police to arrange transport and sort out care for them.
We were also requested to go back to the scene of the incident to see if we could locate the missing keys but nothing was found and we returned to station.
SO D Jackson, A Gwennap, R Hatfield, C McClary, E Semmens, L Taskis,and C Wood attended.
