Members of the St Just team found a Tee shirt believed to be from the man and again a request was made for the ILB to tasked. This time it was granted; also the AWB was  tasked. The police helicopter Oscar 99 arrived on scene with its infra red search capability and was soon scanning the area and located a contact near the Irish Lady. Both lifeboats made their way to the position, Oscar 99 relayed to the search teams that the contact was moving along the rocks at the base of the cliffs near the water line.

The Lands End team made its way to a position where they could see the man and set up the cliff equipment, the lifeboats got in as close as possible but the man did not wanted to be rescued and moved further along the rocks. The cliff team then had to de-rig and move the equipment further along the cliff top and set up again. Rescue 193 from Culdrose was tasked and once on scene put down a diver on the winch to recover the man but again he avaided being rescued. Once the cliff team had got set up again the lifeboat Cox Terry George was giving information to all reguarding the antics of the man and his whereabouts. Colin Mc Clary was the Lands End cliffman and when in position could see the man clearly and made his way towards him. He got within 20 yards of the man when he stood up and jumped into the sea! The inshore lifeboat moved in and managed to grab the man and eventually he was bought ashore and handed to the police then taken aboard R193 and flown to Treliske hospital.
