1821 hrs. Called to Porthcuno after FMCG had received two 999 calls about two elderly persons getting into difficulty in an inflateable. They lost their oars and had fallen out of the inflateable but managed to get back in.

They were not far off shore and not in great danger. They managed to make their way into Green bay where they rested.

SO D Jackson and C Mc Clary got to an advantage point and made contact with them asking their intentions. .Tthey were surprised to see us and said that they were ok and not in trouble. The woman then got back in the small inflateable and the man tried pushing it out through the waves but kept on getting  pushed  back. Eeventually he got out past the waves and stayed within his depth pushing the dingy around to Porthcurno beach.  Both of them were exhausted by this time.

CRO  Chris Wood met them as they came ashore and gave them a stern dressing down.

The man said that he had done the same thing in 1974 and did not have a problem then but he  realised that he was now older and should not have attempted it again!
