SO  D Jackson,DSO G Hale,B Hicks, A Semmens and C Hale were called to Sennen cove to assist bomb and mine with a device on the beach, the police were also in attendance, the area was marked off by using our four foot cliff stakes  and red and white tape, the bomb and mine team arrived and we were asked to clear the beach and sea of people which was done, but you always seem to get one who knows better than you who will tell you he knows better, anyway after a long debate he left the area,local shops were warned  of the forthcoming explosion. The device was moved to the middle of the beach and blown up hurling lots of white hot phosphorus into the air, the device had been fired before but had not gone off, and could have caused someone severe injury if handled, the pyro was a  M K 2  smoke marker 18 in. long.
