Following a report from members of the public walking on the coastpath, the team were tasked to investigate a vessel heading east from the Runnel Stone whose lights had suddenly gone off except for a small glow at the stern.

The weather conditions were very poor with heavy rain, onshore winds of force 7-8 and visibility at one and a half miles.

A search was made from Porthchapple to Logan Rock but nothing untoward was found.
