Two Coastguards, Arthur Oddy and Sydney Sworne were awarded the Silver Medal for entering the surf at Whitesands Beach and rescuing survivors from the wrecked Trifolium. |

St. Just and Sennen Teams rescued the crew of 27 from the steamer Ravenshoe, which ran aground near Carn Gloose. |

L.S.A. team assembled and proceeded to Cape Cornwall where the steamer Ixia was aground on the Venees, assistance not required as her crew rowed ashore in there own boats. |
