In 1972 The Sennen team as they were known then were awarded the Department of Trade and Industry Shield  for the best rescue, when the team rescued the crew of the “NEFELLI” that came ashore on cliffs  at Lands End
After an electrical fire on board causing damage to the navigational instruments, she ran ashore in Dollar cove near Lands End during very dense fog and in the hours of darkness.  She was  found by Cyril Jackson and Anthony Angove only because her stern was banging on the rocks by the rise and fall of the sea. The fog was so dense that the vessel was hardly visible from the  cliff top. Cyril and Anthony helped the first two  crew members over the cliff top to safety, the rest were brought up the cliff face by the cliff team using rope ladders and helicopter strops attached to cliff lines.
